Is your business, or organization a non-retail operation that primarily falls into one or more of the following areas?
Allied Health professionals such as physiotherapists and occupational therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, and others should close.
Dentists and Orthodontists operating outside of a hospital should close except for emergencies.
Veterinarians should close except for emergency care.
Licensed childcare facilities
The work of police officers, firefighters, correctional officers, furnace tenders or stationary engineers, security guards, building custodians or persons providing domestic service
Operations conducting emergency repairs (this does not include scheduled or routine maintenance)
Buses, trains and other public transportation for passengers/goods and work required for their operation
Caring for perishable products and live animals
Dairy operations and dairy manufacturing, processing and distribution of products directly to the consumer
a bakery is permitted to operate on Remembrance Day if staff are preparing baked goods for sale on or after November 12th.
a sole-proprietor or bakery with no more than three employees is permitted to open for food preparation and/or retail, so long as no more than three employees are on-site.
Fish plants and meat packing plants, if closing would cause a serious deterioration in product quality, and any work required for receiving, paying for and shipping these products
Work that, if not done on Remembrance Day, would cause a break in the continuous supply of electricity, telephone service, heat, fuel oil, gas, gasoline, light or water
Work related to conducting commemorative or religious ceremonies
