The business closing rules of the Remembrance Day Act,(opens in a new tab) do not apply to you. Your business can open just like any normal workday. You are not required to provide employees with the day off (with or without pay), a replacement day off (with or without pay), or extra pay (generally known as “premium pay”), unless any of these things are required by a collective agreement or employment contract that you have with your employees.
